It was on August 31 earlier this year that it was announced that the two boxing champions Manny Pacquiao and Antonio Margarito, the former from the Philippines and the latter from Mexico, will face off against each other in what could be the most exciting and interesting fight of the entire year with the currently vacant WBC, or World Boxing Council, super welterweight championship and the title of Number one pound for pound title at stake.

Manny Pacquaio boasts a boxing record of 51 wins 3 losses 2 draws and 38 knockouts while Antonio Margarito has a record of 38 wins 6 losses and 27 knockouts. Both fighters are very well known in their home countries and it will be quite an unpredictable match as both are known for their skill in the ring.

It was announced by Bob arum and Jerry Jones that the pacquiao vs margarito figh would be held within the Cowboys Stadium for the World Super Welterweight Championship on the line. The fight is set to happen on November 13, Saturday and will be produced and distributed live on HBO pay-per-view, at 9 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. PT.’

This event shall be the second time that Manny Pacquiao will headline a championship fight at the Cowboys Stadium where up to 50,000 fans had watched him successfully defend his WBO, World Boxing Organisation, welterweight title against former world champion Joshua Clottey. If Pacquiao were to win this fight, it would be his eight world title in as eight different divisions. It is also worth noting that he will be the first elected official to fight for a world championship and headline a major international pay-per-view promotion. Manny Pacquiao had won a seat in Philippine Congress in the province of Sarangani during the Country’s last election.

The Pacquiao vs Margarito shall be Antonio Margarito’s second attempt at a world super welterweight title. Margarito has won against six world champions. He is also known as the Tijuana Tornado and is the WBC’s International super welterweight champion as well the number one super welterweight contender.

Manny Pacquaio had won the WBO welterweight title in November of last year by knocking out Miguel Cotto, who is a four time world champion. It was this victory which made Pacquiao the first man to win seven titles in seven different weight divisions with his last three matches ending in knockout. He has been consensus fighter o the year for three times and has been named the Boxing Writers Association of America’s “Fighter of the Decade”. Pacquaio has beaten several hall of famers including Oscar De La Hoya, Ricky Hatton, Marco Antonio Barrera, Eric Morales, Juan Manuel Marquez, and Miquel Cotto.

Antonio Margarito is a native of Tijuana Mexico who has captured his first world title in the year 2002 by winning the vacant WBO welterweight title against Antonio Diaz. He then held that belt for five years, defending it for a total of seven times.

The Pacquiao vs Margarito will surely be a giant event that will be watched by millions across the world.
